Photovoltaics

Since November 2022, we have had a total of 354 m2 of solar panels on the roof, so that we feed self-produced electricity into our system with an output of 97.3 KWP and consume up to 95% ourselves according to the load profile. We feed surplus electricity into the grid.

Green Electricity

As our electricity requirements are greater than we can produce with the solar panels on the roof, we also purchase green electricity from the company Naturenergie, which consists of 100% hydroelectric power and is produced regionally in hydroelectric power plants in the Black Forest.

Heat Recovery

The heat generated by the cooling of the cold stores and the air conditioning systems is used to heat the water for the indoor pool by means of heat recovery.

Combined Heat and Power Plant

In our energy-efficient combined heat and power plant, residual heat generated during electricity production is also fed into the heating cycle.

Lighting

In our energy-efficient combined heat and power plant, residual heat generated during electricity production is also fed into the heating cycle. In addition, the majority of lamps in the building are fitted exclusively with long-lasting and therefore very sustainable LED light sources. It goes without saying that we attach great importance to ensuring that the comfort of our guests is never compromised by these measures.

Biogas Plant

The organic waste that cannot be avoided is collected by Bioenergie Simon from neighbouring Breitnau. The food waste is shredded and processed at the plant. After these processes, the biological residues are processed into biogas and fed into the energy cycle.

E-charging Stations

Tvo enable our guests to travel green, you will find two charging stations for your electric car at our hotel. You can use your card to charge up with green electricity as usual.

Guest rooms

Room cleaning

For the sake of the environment or if you want to enjoy your privacy undisturbed, you can dispense with daily room cleaning during your hotel stay. You will of course receive the usual daily room cleaning service unless you inform us otherwise. In this way, we can help to ensure that less cleaning agents and electricity are used for the cleaning equipment. Towel conservation is encouraged in both rooms and wellness areas.

Minibar on Request

Each room is equipped with a minibar. In order not to consume unnecessary electricity and thus contribute to environmental pollution, they are equipped with a radio-controlled socket. Of course, you don’t have to do without chilled products while on holiday. On request, we will be happy to switch on the minibar for you by remote maintenance. Simply let us know at reception or in the app.

Natural Cosmetics

You will find certified natural cosmetics in the sauna and swimming pool area as well as in the guest rooms. Hand soap, shower gel & shampoo as well as hand & body lotion are vegan and cruelty-free. We use extracts from controlled organic cultivation, free of colorants, for our natural and environmentally friendly product formulations. e purchase these products, which are manufactured in Austria, in large containers with environmentally friendly packaging and fill them into small pump dispensers. This allows us to avoid unnecessary packaging materials and transport routes.

Accessories for the Bathroom

To avoid unnecessary plastic packaging, we offer environmentally friendly bathroom products such as cotton pads, bamboo cotton buds, cardboard nail files and compostable shower caps. All these products are manufactured and shipped in a CO2-neutral way. We have many other products in stock. If you have forgotten something else at home, you are welcome to enquire at reception.

Since 2023, we are proud to announce that we have been awarded the DEHOGA environmental check in the highest category “gold” by the German Hotel & Restaurant Association. This confirms our continuous efforts to make our hotel and therefore your holiday as sustainable as possible.
