Christmas and New Year at the Kesslermühle

Christmas and New Year’s Eve 2024/2025 at the Kesslermühle – A look back

The holidays at the Kesslermühle are always something very special, and this year we were once again able to experience a festive time full of contemplation, enjoyment and unforgettable moments together with our guests. Here is a chronological review of the highlights of our Christmas and New Year’s Eve week.

Sunday, December 22 – A warm start

To kick off the festive season, we invited our guests to a cozy Feuerzangenbowle in the pavilion after dinner. During this convivial get-together, the Meisinger family presented the weekly program and got everyone in the mood for the upcoming festivities.

Christmas Eve, December 24 – Festive moments and culinary delights

Christmas Eve began with an aperitif in the festively decorated pavilion. Afterwards, our guests enjoyed an exquisite Christmas menu prepared with love by our kitchen team.

After the meal, there was a family Christmas party where Christmas carols were sung and homemade cookies were served. The contemplative atmosphere made this evening an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Christmas Day, December 25 – Winter hiking delights

On Christmas Day, Claudia Meisinger invited our guests to a guided hike to the Kesslermühle forest hut. The wintry backdrop and the fresh Black Forest air put everyone in a good mood, and fragrant coffee, hot punch and oven-fresh cake awaited the hikers in the hut.

In the evening, a concert by the Stubenmusik Kaltenbrunn in the Kurhaus Hinterzarten rounded off this festive day with music.

2nd Christmas Day, December 26 – Tradition and music

The 2nd Christmas Day was all about indulgence and tradition. Our kitchen spoiled our guests with a classic festive roast of goose and duck. In the evening, the Hinterzarten traditional accordion group delighted the guests with an atmospheric Christmas concert that touched the hearts of everyone in the audience.

December 30 – Lantern hike and mulled punch

In the days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, our program offered numerous highlights, including a winter lantern hike with Bernd Meisinger. With lanterns in hand, we walked through the quiet, snow-covered landscape before all participants were welcomed with a mulled punch at the fireplace in front of the hotel.

New Year’s Eve, December 31 – A glamorous end to the year

New Year’s Eve began festively with an aperitif, followed by an exclusive gala menu that our service and kitchen team had prepared for the guests. At midnight on the dot, we toasted the New Year 2025 together, accompanied by festive sounds and a great atmosphere.

A highlight of the evening was the midnight buffet, which was served in our hotel kitchen from 1:30 am. From oysters to sausages – there was something for every taste.

New Year, January 1 – A lively start to the new year

The first morning of the new year began with an extensive hangover breakfast, where our guests were able to fortify themselves and welcome in the new year in a relaxed atmosphere.

Musically, the year began with the traditional New Year’s concert by the Trachtenkapelle Hinterzarten in the Kurhaus, which is a fixed part of the program for many guests.

A heartfelt thank you

We would like to thank all our guests who spent these wonderful days with us and also our team, who made these festive highlights possible with passion and commitment.

We look forward to welcoming you again in the new year and wish you a healthy and happy 2025!
